Food Experience Episode: 1

Since my diet is drastically changing this new year. I started reliving my best loves. 2011 was a good year to end and cut delicious yet unnutritious yum yums out of my life. It's like having a cigarette before your execution. No really I am excited to go Vegetarian.

2011 introduced me to: Dirty Martinis, prosciutto, jerk chicken, Chicken and Prosciutto Tortellini Gina (GAROZZOS! LIFE CHANGING!!) Cleon the Chef, Nathans Hot Dogs in Coney Island, Central Park Smoked Salmon, Lamb Curry and homemade caramel. yes it has been a good year and the hips, hives and heartburn to prove it.

Instead of going chronologically I want to start with my favorites. So it's all down hill from here. This whole post is brought to you by my appetite.

NEW YORK!!!!--or at least a few tidbits

 1) Pizza Pilgrimage
Andrew took this a little more seriously, making it a very religious and dedicated outing, After Grimaldi's I went shopping and left him to discover New York Pizza. I needn't go further than Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn Bridge, possibly my best pizza experience (aside from my mother's) followed immediately by regret and wishing we had saved some of that 16".
4 hours after landing in New York, 2 hours of searching

Yes we ate the whole thing, next to some Swedish ladies who were totally grossed out.
This guy can lay down some cheese like you would not believe!

 2) NBC Jelly Beans!
I was way too touristy..but I love Jelly Beans and NBC.

PEACOCK BABY!

 3) Le Pain Quotidien-Central Park
After complaining endlessly of how much my feet hurt Andrew treated me to lunch at Le Pain Quotidien. An organic little spot looking over Sheep Meadow and a gorgeous view of some buildings but I couldn't tell you what they were. I had Smoked Salmon on homemade organic wheat bread with dill accompanied by a Pinot Noir.
I loved it so much it is enlarged and framed and hanging in the Kitchen

I did not pour that glass myself but it does look like my portions

Well that is all I have for this session, mostly because I am tired but also not to burn you out.

I <3 New York for sure.
